Abdelkader Bensalah

Abdelkader Bensalah (Arabic: عبد القـادر بن صالح, 24 November 1941 – 22 September 2021) was an Algerian politician. He was the President of the Council of the Nation from 2002 to 2019. On 2 April 2019, he became the Acting President of Algeria following the resignation of Abdelaziz Bouteflika.[1]

Bensalah died on 22 September 2021 from COVID-19 and cancer-related problems at a hospital in Algiers, Algeria at the age of 79.[2]
