Abiy Ahmed Ali (Amharic: አብይ አህመድ አሊ; born 15 August 1976) is an Ethiopian politician. He was appointed as 12th Prime Minister of Ethiopia on 2 April 2018.[1] He is chairman of both the ruling EPRDF (Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front)[2] and the OPDO (Oromo Peoples' Democratic Organization).[3]

Ahmed was awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end border conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea.[4]
