Akira Yamaoka
Akira Yamaoka (山岡 晃, Yamaoka Akira, born February 6, 1968) is a Japanese video game composer, sound designer, guitarist, and producer. He is best known for composing music for the Silent Hill video game series and Silent Hill movies. He has also composed music for many other Konami games.

Yamaoka studied product design and interior design at Tokyo Art College. He said that he first wanted to follow a career in design.[1] He first joined Konami on September 21, 1993. On December 2, 2009, he announced that he was leaving Konami after 16 years with the company.[2] He joined Grasshopper Manufacture on February 3, 2010.[3]
