Alan Kalter
Alan Robert Kalter (March 21, 1943 – October 4, 2021) was an American television announcer. He was best known as the announcer for the Late Show with David Letterman, starting in 1995 until his retirement in 2015.
Kalter was born on March 21, 1943 in New York City, New York.[1] He was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Kalter studied at Hobart College. He was married to Carol Cepler until they divorced. He married Peggy Masterson in 2003.
Kalter died at a hospital in Stamford, Connecticut on October 4, 2021, at age 78.[2]
