Apple Pencil

Apple Pencil is a wireless stylus pen accessory from Apple Inc.[1] They are used with supported iPad tablets.

Apple announced the first-generation Apple Pencil at the same time as the first iPad Pro on September 9, 2015. The pencil works wirelessly via Bluetooth. Its pen cap hides the Lightning connector that charges the pen. The pencil works with the first- and second-generation iPad Pro models. It works with all other iPads released in 2018 and later with a Lightning port.

Apple announced the second-generation Apple Pencil on October 30, 2018 at the same time as the third-generation iPad Pro. This pencil uses a magnetic connector on the side of the tablet for charging, not a Lightning connector. It has touch-sensitive areas that can be tapped to tell the pencil to do things. It works with all iPads with a USB-C port, for example the fourth-generation iPad Air and sixth generation iPad Mini.
