Aslan Bzhania
Aslan Georgievich Bzhania (Abkhaz: Аслан Гьаргь-иҧа Бжьаниа, Russian: Аслан Георгиевич Бжания; born 6 April 1963) is an Abkhaz politician. He became President of Abkhazia on 23 April 2020 and resigned on 19 November 2024. He was the Head of the State Security Service, and one of the leaders of the opposition in Abkhazia.

In 2019, he was poisoned with mercury and was hospitalized for months in Moscow.[1]
He ran in the 2020 presidential election, which preliminary reports show he won.
