Banská Bystrica Region
The Banská Bystrica Region (Slovak: Banskobystrický kraj ) is one of the eight regions of Slovakia. The capital is Banská Bystrica.

The region has 13 districts: Banská Bystrica, Banská Štiavnica, Brezno, Detva, Krupina, Lučenec, Poltár, Revúca, Rimavská Sobota, Veľký Krtíš, Zvolen, Žarnovica and Žiar nad Hronom. There are 514 municipalities in the region.
It is on the border with Hungary. It is the largest region in Slovakia by area.
