The Barlas tribe were a Mongol tribe who lived in the Mongolian Plateau

Origin
According to the Secret History of the Mongols, the Barlas were related to the Borjigin. This means both are descendants of Khaidu Khan. The Barlas also shared ancestry from Tumbinai Khan, who was the great-great-grandfather of Genghis Khan and great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Tamerlane. The tribe mainly controlled Shahrisabz, Uzbekistan.
