Bid'at
(Redirected from Bid'ah)
Bid'at (Arabic: بَدَعَتْ) are new inventions in religious beliefs in Islam.[1] The word's literal meaning in Arabic is "invention" and is seen as a form of heresy by some.[2] The word is used for any new invention against the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah .[3] Many Sunnis believe that anybody who starts a new invention in the religion is cursed by Allah and his angels.[4][5]
