Brakna

Brakna (Arabic: ولاية البراكنة) is a region in southwest Mauritania. Its capital is Aleg. Boghé is another major town in the region. The region has borders near the Mauritanian regions of Tagant to the northeast and Assaba and Gorgol to the southeast. It also has a border with Trarza to the northwest. The Senegal River in the southwest is at the region's border with Senegal.
