Brett Johnson
Brett Johnson is an American investor and venture capitalist. He is the founder and CEO of a private equity firm called Benevolent Capital Partners and a sports investment fund named Fortuitous Partners.[1][2]

He also serves as the chairman of Rhode Island FC and is a director and shareholder at Ipswich Town FC[3][4][5] and Phoenix Rising FC.[6][7][8]
Early life and education
Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University and an MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.[9][10] In 2014, he completed the President’s Leadership Program at Harvard Business School through YPO.[11][12]
Career
Brett started his career as the sales director for the western region of the United States at Targus and became president in 2001.[10][2] From 2010 to 2012, he was the CEO and president of Forward Industries.[13] From 2013 to 2015, he was on the board of directors and chaired the compensation committee at Blyth Inc.[14] In November 2018, he founded the sports investment fund Fortuitous Partners.[15][16][17][18] He is also the founder and CEO of Benevolent Capital Partners.[19]
Brett was the first investor in Phoenix Rising FC and helped bring together its local shareholders and board members.[20] On February 18, 2021, Phoenix Rising FC transferred ownership of FC Tucson to Benevolent Sports Tucson LLC, led by Brett Johnson.[21] In 2021, he also invested in Ipswich Town FC by purchasing shares in the club.[22] Johnson co-founded Rhode Island FC with former MLS player Michael Parkhurst and announced plans for a $124 million soccer stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.[23]
His current investments include Ipswich Town FC[24][25][26], Phoenix Rising FC[27], FC Helsingor, FC Tucson, USL Rhode Island, TerraCycle[12], Athletic Brewing, Oura Ring, Damon Motors[28], and ArcherDX, among others.[29][30]

Brett Johnson has been married to Adrienne Blaine Stoltz.[13]
