Brookings, South Dakota

Brookings is a city in the U.S. state of South Dakota. It is the county seat of Brookings County, and 23,377 people lived there at the 2020 census.[4] Brookings was founded in 1883.[5] The city of Brookings was named after Wilmot Wood Brookings, a pioneer promoter. South Dakota State University is located in Brookings. It is the largest university in the state.
