c2c[1] is a British train operating company that is part of the National Express Group. It provides passenger rail services on the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway line from Fenchurch Street railway station in the City of London to the northern Thames Gateway area of southern Essex including Grays and Southend-on-Sea. This route was called the Thameside franchise, and was renamed the Essex Thameside franchise in 2009. The main route from Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via Basildon is 39.5 mph and the fastest timetabled journey time from Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness is 58 mph giving an average speed of 40.7 mph, although the route can be done in 47 mph, giving an average speed of 50 mph.[1] The line currently has a maximum speed limit of 75 mph (121 km/h), although the Class 357 Electrostar electric multiple unit trains which run on it are capable of a maximum speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). Before July 2002, it traded under the name LTS Rail. The current director is Julian Drury.

  • 4 tph to Shoeburyness going past Basildon
    • of which 2 trains do not stop at Limehouse, West Horndon and Pitsea

  • 2tph to Grays via Rainham
  • 2tph to Southend Central via Ockendon

Additional night services operate between Shoeburyness / Pitsea / Grays-Barking.

Additional morning peak services operate between Shoeburyness / Pitsea / Stanford-le-Hope - Grays.
