The pandemic was confirmed to have reached Barbados on 17 March 2020 with the announcement of the first two cases, and at its current peak on 12 April there were 56 active cases.[3]
The government declared a public health emergency until 30 June 2020, and an overnight curfew from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am until 17 May 2020. Many businesses are closed and many of the businesses that were allowed to open were subject to a surname-based schedule.
