Cheranmadevi

Cheranmahadevi is a panchayat town in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is in the Tirunelveli district, on the banks of the river Thamirabarani. The town has many temples. In the 2001 census of India, Cheranmadevi had a population of 16,320.[1] About 49% of the population were men, and 51% were women. Cheranmahadevi has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. About 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
