Colony is a city in Anderson County, Kansas, United States. In 2020, 381 people lived there.[3]

History
Colony was created in 1872. This was when a railroad was built through the area.[4] It was named after a colony from Ohio and Indiana, which settled in the neighborhood.[5]
The railroad tracks in Colony have since been changed to a rail trail. The trail is part of the Prairie Spirit Trail State Park.[6]
Geography
Colony is at 38°4′15″N 95°21′58″W / 38.07083°N 95.36611°W (38.070803, -95.366109).[7] The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.48 square miles (1.24 km2). All of it is land.[8]
Weather
Colony has hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. The Köppen Climate Classification system says that Colony has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[9]

2020 census
The 2020 census says that there were 381 people, 154 households, and 99 families living in Colony. Of the households, 78.6% owned their home and 21.4% rented their home.
The median age was 43.3 years. Of the people, 91.9% were White, 0.8% were Native American, 0.3% Asian, 1.0% were from some other race, and 6.0% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.1% of the people.[3][10]

The 2010 census says that there were 408 people, 177 households, and 112 families living in Colony.[11]
