David H. Burr (born 1803-died 1875) was an American map maker and worked for the Surveyor General of the United States. He was also Surveyor General of Utah. He stopped being a lawyer and became a surveyor. He worked for the state of New York. He made an atlas in 1829. He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He lived in New York in 1822. He became a lawyer. He then joined the militia for New York. He would make many more, including atlases of America. He became the official geographer of the House of Representatives in the United States. He moved to Utah and became their surveyor general. He stopped doing surveying and became a full-time map maker in 1857.
