Deno is a JavaScript and TypeScript runtime. It uses the V8 JavaScript engine and Rust.

Deno was announced in 2018 by Ryan Dahl, the creator of Node.js in his talk, "10 Things I Regret About Node.js".[4]
Deno 1.0 was released on May 13, 2020.[5]
