Doug Parker
William Douglas "Doug" Parker is the current Chairman and CEO of American Airlines, Inc.[1][2]

Career
Parker was born c. 1962.[3] In 1984 he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Albion College.[1] In 1986 he received his MBA from Vanderbilt University.[1] The same year he started with American Airlines in financial management. In 1991 he moved to Northwest Airlines as Vice President and Treasurer.[4] He moved to America West Airlines in 1995 as their Chief financial officer.[5] On September 1, 2001 he became CEO of America West.[5] After the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington DC the airline business was in financial trouble. Parker lobbied Congress for a financial bailout to keep his airline out of bankruptcy.[5] He was given a $380 million USD loan that saved his airline.[5] In 2005 he became president of US Airways Inc., a subsidiary of US Airways Group Inc.[1]
Parker has served on the board of Arizona Public Service. He also serves on the board of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings.[6]
Personal life
Parker's wife Gwen is a former flight attendant. They have three children.[3] In 2007, Doug Parker pleaded guilty to his third DUI and was sentenced to 1 day in jail.[7]
