Dumfries and Galloway is a council area in south west Scotland. In takes in three counties:

• Dumfriesshire
• Kirkcudbrightshire
• Wigtownshire

The capital city of the region is Dumfries. Dumfries is 60 miles south of Edinburgh,the capital of Scotland.
