Eric Horwitz
Eric S. Horwitz (born August 5, 1967) is an American Executive, Life, and Business coach and consultant currently serving as the CEO and owner of GEM (Gennex Management LLC) and head coach at the Columbia University Career Coaching Network.
Early life and education
Horwitz was born and raised in Denver, Colorado where he attended Rocky Mountain Hebrew Academy. Horwitz graduated from Columbia University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. At Columbia, Horwitz operated Hartley Kosher Deli as a member of the Columbia Student Enterprises. He later received his coaching degree from Coach University in 2007.[1]
Career
Horwitz began his career in 1991 as an Account Supervisor at Kwasha Lipton. After this stint, Horwitz was appointed as an Implementation Manager at PWC from 1997 to 2000. In 2000, Horwitz was hired by Mellon Financial Services as their Director of Implementation where he was responsible for the implementation of HR and Benefit outsourcing operations for jumbo clients such as Lockheed Martin. Horwitz left Mellon in 2002, and served as the Regional Head of the Americas for Black Mountain Group.
In February 2005, Horwitz founded GEM. He currently acts as Owner, CEO, and Head Coach at GEM, serving executives from organizations such as Bank of America, Burberry, and Vogue.[2] In 2013 while maintaining his roles at GEM, Horwitz became the head coach of the Columbia University Career Coaching Network, serving the entrepreneurial needs of over 400,000 Columbia Alumni.[1]
Personal life
Horwitz lives in New York City. He also served as the President of the Board of Directors at the Generations Project and currently volunteers for the Point Foundation and City Year to provide coaching to marginalized and underprivileged students.
