Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are an ice hockey team that plays in the NHL. They play in Sunrise, Florida at FLA Live Arena. They were named for the Florida panther, a type of cougar that is considered an endangered species.

The Panthers have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals three times in 1996, 2023, and 2024. They lost to the Colorado Avalanche in four games (1996) and the Vegas Golden Knights in five games (2023). They would defeat the Edmonton Oilers in seven games (2024).

Wayne Huizenga was awarded a franchise from the NHL on December 10, 1992.
The Panthers drafted Jay Bouwmeester third overall in the 2002 NHL entry draft.
The Panthers acquired Brian Campbell during the 2011 off-season. Campbell played with the Panthers from 2011 to 2016.
Aleksander Barkov, drafted 2nd overall by the Panthers in 2013, would emerge as the franchise's captain and star during the late-2010s.
