History
The first post office at Formoso was founded in December 1887.[7]
Formoso was founded about 1889.[8]

2010 census
As of the 2010 census says that there were 93 people, 48 households, and 26 families living in the city.[2]
Education
Formoso is a part of USD 107 Rock Hills Schools. The Rock Hills High School mascot is Rock Hills Grizzlies.[10]
Formoso schools closed through school unification. The Formoso High School mascot was Formoso Falcons.[11]
