The show is based on a talent competition in which participants are evaluated by three or four judges in auditions who will decide who deserves to move on to the next stage. The audience will then select their favorites by telephone vote and advance to a final where one will be crowned the winner.
Overview
The first adaptation premiered in mid-2008 and consisted of three editions hosted by Mariano Peluffo. The original jury was composed of Maximiliano Guerra (professional dancer), Catherine Fulop (international model), and Kike Teruel (musician and composer), and the production was in charge of Marcos Gorban.
The first season premiered on Sunday, July 27, 2008, with very good public acceptance. It was renewed for a second season that aired on Thursdays starting July 23, 2009; and the third season starting October 20, 2010, broadcasting on Saturdays.
After 13 years off the air, Telefe announced the return of the franchise to Argentine television, under the name Got Talent Argentina, to premiere in 2023, with changes in the host, led by the actress and comedian Lizy Tagliani. The jury for this new edition was made up of the Argentine singers Abel Pintos and Joaquinha Lerena —known artistically as "La Joaqui"—, the actress and presenter Florencia Peña, and the Uruguayan dancer Emir Abdul Gani.
