Gustav Metzger
Gustav Metzger (10 April 1926 – 1 March 2017) was a British artist and political activist. He was best known for developing the concept of auto-destructive art (ADA) and the Art Strike. He was also one of the starters of the Destruction in Art Symposium in September 1966.
Metzger was born in Nuremberg, Germany. He was the son of Polish Jews. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1939 as a refugee.
Metzger died on 1 March 2017 in London, at the age of 90.[1]
