Henry VIII is a play by William Shakespeare. It is a history play. Shakespeare's sources were Holinshed's Chronicles and The Book of Martyrs by John Foxe. The play was first acted between 1612 and 1613. It was probably first printed in 1623 in the First Folio.[1]
