Hyphy
Hyphy is a type of West Coast hip hop music and culture. Hyphy started in Oakland, California and became popular in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 2000s.[1]
The word hyphy was first created by American rapper Keak da Sneak.[2] Other popular hyphy artists are Mac Dre, E-40 and Mistah F.A.B..[3] Many people view Mac Dre as the pioneer of the hyphy movement.[4]
Street racing, ghost riding and car stunt performances called "sideshows" are well known things in the hyphy movement.[5]
People will also "go dumb" or "get stupid", meaning to dance and make loud noises.[6]
