The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Spanish: Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos; INDEC) is a decentralized public body of a technical nature that operates within the orbit of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation, which exercises the superior direction of all official statistical activities carried out in the Argentine Republic.[1]

The individual data provided by citizens are confidential and are protected by statistical secrecy as established by Argentine Law No. 17,622.
