Islam is the second largest religion by population of North Macedonia, after Orthodox Christianity. In 2017, Muslims carried 34% to 39% of the total 2017 Macedonian population.
Muslims in Macedonia are mostly descended from Albanians immigrants, and a small Turk, Xoraxane Roma, Bosnian immigrants and Macedonian convert to Islam (Torbeshi). Most of them are Sunni Islam of Hanafi Madh'hab and Bektashi.

Mustafa Pasha Mosque is located in the Old Bazaar of Skopje, Macedonia. It stands on a plateau above the old bazaar and is one of the most beautiful Islamic buildings in Macedonia. It was built in 1492 by Mustafa Pasha, vizier on the court of Sultan Selim I.
