In 2021, they purchased 7-Eleven stores.[5] Later in 2022, they partnered up with CordovaCann to open Cannabis dispensaries in some stores.[6]
In 2023, they introduced technology in some stores.[7] Later, 80 Bitcoin ATMs were introduced and customers use their wallets through the company's website or mobile app.[8]
Charity
They participated in Give the Gift of Peace in 2016 with Washington State Collation to raise awareness of domestic violence.[9][10] They raised $161,369 in 2014 and were featured at a conference that year.[11]
Lawsuits
Disability Concern
Jacksons was sued by EEOC for not letting a worker go home after she had surgery.[12]
Privacy Problems
Two customers in Portland complained about their privacy being compromised due to new tech in the stores. The lawsuit was cancelled.[13]
Racial Discrimination Case
An African-American woman was denied service a Beaverton location and was told, "I don't serve black people." The president of the company did not choose to pursue the case. She sued Jacksons for $1 million.[14]
