James W. Carroll
James W. Carroll Jr. is an American lawyer. He was the director of the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy from January 3, 2019 to January 20, 2021. He was appointed by President Donald Trump[1] and then nominated to be the permanent director on April 24, 2018.[2]

Carroll served as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff.[3] He was an attorney in the Office of the White House Counsel for Presidents Donald Trump and George W. Bush.[4]
