Jimmy Dickinson
[1]Jimmy Dickinson (1925-1982) was a football player who played a lot of games for Portsmouth.
Dickinson was from Alton and joined Portsmouth after the war. He was a defender and won medals in 1949 and 1950 when his team were top of the First Division. He played for England in the 1950s. When he retired he became Secretary of Portsmouth. In 1977 he became Portsmouth's manager. He had a heart attack in 1979 and retired. His face is shown in the seats at Portsmouth's home, Fratton Park.
