He auditioned for V in Prestige in 2003 and qualified. He released three singles and one studio album with them. After split-up of V in 2005, he continued as a songwriter for other artists.

But chart-topping Leon avoided being locked up immediately when his 32-week prison term was suspended at Cardiff Crown Court, following a plea for leniency from his victim (which he kicked a man in the face outside a pub).
