Marion Leonard

Marion Leonard (June 9, 1881 — 9 January 1956) was an American actress, who became one of the first celebrities in the era of a silent movie.

Biography

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She began her career in the theater and at the age of 27 she signed a contract with American Mutoscope and Biograph Company. She made her debut on the screen in the short film At the Crossroads of Life (1908) directed by Wallace McCutcheon, Jr. During the year, she was filmed mostly in films by D. W. Griffith.

Marion Leonard died in 1956 in Woodland Hills, California.
