Met Gala

Met Gala or Met Ball is an annual festival for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. It's also about annual fashion exhibit where the celebrities take part in. The Met Gala was established in 1948. Since 1973 this event has become "a jewel in New York City’s social crown".[3] This is also called as the Super Bowl of fashion.[4]

History

The Costume Institute at the Met has been existed since 1959. Firstly the gala was annual benefit for New York charities. The attendees were members of New York high society. Then fashion designer Diana Vreeland bring it into the spotlight from 1973.[3]
