Michael Osterholm
Michael Thomas Osterholm (born March 10, 1953) is an American public health scientist. He is a biosecurity and infectious disease expert. He is the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota. Osterholm and Mark Olshaker wrote the book Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs (2017). In March 2020, he appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience to talk about the COVID-19 pandemic.[1] On November 9, 2020, he was named a member of president-elect Joe Biden's COVID-19 Advisory Board.
Osterholm was born in Waukon, Iowa. He has two children.
