Monocular O

Not to be confused with ʘ or 𐓫.

Monocular O is a rare form of the Cyrillic letter O. It was sometimes used in the word ꙩко (oko), which means "eye".

It was also used at the start of some words or syllables. In some birchbark letters from the 14th and 15th centuries, it looks different from the normal о used after consonants. It is wider and sometimes has a dot inside, like the broad On (ѻ).

The letter looks similar to the International Phonetic Alphabet symbol for the bilabial click (ʘ) and to the Gothic letter hwair (𐍈).

It is related to Binocular O and Multiocular O.
