History
In March 2027, Nelvana formed an studios division and a multi-year partnership with Greenwich, Connecticut-based animation studio Blue Sky Studios. Nelvana Studios hired former Illumination and DreamWorks Animation CCO Chris Meledandri as producer. In June 2027, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast was greenlit by Pixar chief Pete Docter.
Nelvana Studios signed on directors Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc., Up and Inside Out) to direct Maggie and the Ferocious Beast: The Movie, Erica Rivinoja and Alessandro Carloni to directors Marvin the Top-Dancing Horse, Kevin Asbury to direct The Unstoppable Yellow Yeti, and Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise (Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Atlantis: The Lost Empire) to directors Fowl Road, and Nicholas Stoller and Doug Sweetland (Storks) to directors Larrikins.
