Orange County, California
Orange County (established 1889) is one of the counties of California, in the United States. It is in southern California, along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Its county seat is Santa Ana, and its largest city is Anaheim.
The county has 3,186,989 people, as of 2020,[1] spread across just 948 square miles (2,455 square kilometers). It is the third most populous county in California. The west-flowing Santa Ana River divides the county into north and south parts.[2] On the north, the San Gabriel River forms its border with Los Angeles County. Orange County has medium-sized cities including Anaheim, Orange, Huntington Beach, Fullerton and Irvine. The county is mostly residential.
Some famous attractions, such as Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, are in Orange County. The professional sports teams in Orange County include the Los Angeles Angels and Anaheim Ducks.
Orange County was a part of Los Angeles county until 1889. The county grew quickly after World War 2 becoming a place where people would live but work in Los Angeles or other counties. Aerospace and light industry along with tourism and services were primary employers. [3]
