Peter Hitchcock (environmentalist)
Peter Phillip Hitchcock AM (1944 – 20 May 2019) was an Australian environmentalist. He played a key role in helping some of Australia's rainforests become protected areas. He oversaw nationally and internationally important UNESCO World Heritage nominations. He was also involved in the management of World Heritage protected areas.
Hitchcock died on 20 May 2019 in Cairns, Queensland. He was 75.[1]
