Philippi, West Virginia
Philippi (pronounced 'FILL-uh-pea') is a city in — and the county seat of — Barbour County, West Virginia, United States.[1] The population was 2,929 at the 2020 census.[2]
The 1861 Battle of Philippi was fought in the city during the American Civil War.
