This is the third movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. It was released on May 25, 2007 by Disney and was followed by a sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 2011.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from film critics, it was positively welcomed from audiences and fans alike which praised its story, directing, humor, cast performances (especially those of Depp and Knightley), Hans Zimmer's musical score, emotional weight, action scenes, message, screenplay and the special effects and it led the box office, grossing more than US$963 million worldwide.
