Ram Vilas Paswan
Ram Vilas Paswan (5 July 1946 – 8 October 2020) was an Indian politician. He was born in Khagaria, Bihar.
He was a member of the Janata Party. He was a member of the Lok Sabha between 1977 to 1984, 1989 to 1991, 1991 to 1996, 1996 to 2009 and from 2014 to 2019. He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha between 2010 to 2014 and from 2019 until his death.
Paswan was Minister of Labour between 1989 to 1990. From 1996 to 1998, he was Minister of Railways. He was Minister of Communications and Information Technology between 1999 to 2001.
He was Minister of Mines between 2001 to 2002. He was Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers between 2004 to 2009. He also was Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution between 2014 to 2020.
Paswan died on 8 October 2020 in New Delhi from problems caused by heart surgery, aged 74.[1]
