Roy Linwood Clark (April 15, 1933 – November 15, 2018) was an American country singer-songwriter, actor, guitarist and television presenter. He was best known for having hosted Hee Haw from 1969 to 1997. He also guest hosted for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. His best known song was "Yesterday, When I Was Young".

Roy was a renowned guitarist and banjo player. He was skilled in many different forms of music that included classical guitar, country music, Latin music, bluegrass, and pop. He even had hit songs as a pop vocalist. Roy Clark had an enormous impact on bluegrass and country musicians around the world.

He was a member of the Grand Ole Opry from 1987 until his death,[1][2] and, in 2009, was added into the Country Music Hall of Fame.[3] Clark was born in Meherrin, Virginia.

Clark died on November 15, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma from complications of pneumonia at the age of 85.[4]
