Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson (born December 21, 1948[1]) is an American movie actor and producer. He has starred in many movies. These include The Avengers, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction.
Jackson was born in Washington, D.C. on December 21, 1948.[1] He grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During childhood, he had a stuttering problem, which he conquered. Jackson attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. After joining a local acting group to earn extra points in a class, Jackson found an interest in acting and switched his major.[2] Before graduating in 1972, he co-founded the "Just Us Theatre".[3] Jackson is a sports fan and supports basketball teams Toronto Raptors and the Harlem Globetrotters and soccer club Liverpool FC. In 1980, Jackson married LaTanya Richardson, with whom he has a daughter, Zoe.
Jackson is also a big fan of Star Wars and portrayed the character Mace Windu in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He also reprised his role as Windu, in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (movie) but not for the series. He also portrayed Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (movie) (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and in two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D television series. In 2017, Jackson appeared as Colonel Preston Packard in Kong: Skull Island. In October 2011, Jackson surpassed Frank Welker as the highest grossing film actor of all-time.[4]
