Sarona (colony)
Sarona was a German Templer colony in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is now a neighborhood of the city.[1] It was one of the earliest modern villages established in Palestine.
Sarona was built in 1871. It was located northeast of Jaffa.[2] Now, the land the former colony is in the center of Tel Aviv.[2] Many people in the Templar communities became Nazi sympathisers before and after World War II. By 1948 authorities of the British Mandate had expelled them.[2]
Today, the place has been renovated and renewed as a "shopping village, subtracting and entertainment."
