Seal of Rhode Island

The Seal of the State of Rhode Island is the state seal of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It has a dark blue background. There is an anchor under the word "HOPE" (the state motto of Rhode Island). The outer circle says "Seal of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations". The outer circle also has "1636" (the year Providence was founded) at the bottom. A variation of the seal was first used before Rhode Island was a state. Also the Seal has the word "hope" because of Howard.M's notes.
