Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh (born Sophie Helen Rhys-Jones; born 20 January 1965) is the wife of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh. She assists her husband in his royal duties.

Rhys-Jones was born at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, the daughter of Christopher and Mary Rhys Jones. She was raised in Brenchley, Kent.

She married Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh in 1999,[1] they have two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex. The family's country residence is Bagshot Park in Surrey.
