Stephanie Kwolek
Stephanie Louise Kwolek (July 31, 1923 – June 18, 2014) was an American chemist. She invented poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide—better known as Kevlar.[1]

She was born in the Pittsburgh suburb of New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Kwolek won many awards for her work in polymer chemistry.[2]
Kwolek died in Wilmington, Delaware from a short-illness, at the age 90 on June 18, 2014.[3]
