SummerSlam (2011)

SummerSlam (2011) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view show made by WWE. It took place on August 14, 2011 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.[1] It was the 24th yearly SummerSlam event held by WWE and the last pay-per-view of the first brand extension, which ended on August 29.[2]

There were eight matches on the card. In the main event, CM Punk defeated John Cena to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Triple H was the special guest referee. After the match, Alberto Del Rio cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Punk to win the WWE Championship.[3]
